About AXELOS
AXELOS is a joint venture company between the UK Cabinet Office and Capita plc, and is the developer of the ITIL® IT service management (ITSM) and PRINCE2® project management methodologies, which have been adopted by companies around the world.
What is RESILIA?
RESILIA has been designed to complement existing cyber resilience standards and frameworks, such as ISO 27001, by providing guidance on how their controls can be selected, deployed and managed appropriately.
RESILIA best practice covers 29 sub-categories based on five stages of cyber resilience:
- Cyber Resilience Strategy
- Cyber Resilience Design
- Cyber Resilience Transition
- Cyber Resilience Operation
- Cyber Resilience Continual Improvement
RESILIA and ITIL
Although RESILIA is based on ITIL® and can integrate with other frameworks such as COBIT®, it is a standalone best-practice framework designed to be relevant to all organisations and used by all organisational levels – not just those that use ITIL for their ITSM.
RESILIA pathway tool consultancy
IT Governance has partnered with AXELOS to deliver RESILIA pathway tool consultancy.
The RESILIA Pathway Tool has been designed to help organisations determine their current cyber resilience maturity level, understand their vulnerabilities and the cyber threats they face, and identify a pathway to improved cyber resilience.
Organisations can then set higher maturity levels and use the tool to determine the mitigation activities necessary to drive continual improvement.
Designed to be used in organisations of all types and sizes, the tool provides a high-level executive report, including a graphical representation of areas of strength and weakness, that gives senior managers an overview of their organisation's cyber resilience capabilities at a glance.
Using the RESILIA Pathway Tool, our consultants can help you easily identify your strengths and weaknesses to determine your current level of maturity. We will use this information to recommend a plan of action to improve your organisation’s resilience to cyber attacks.
Our cyber security consultancy services can then help with any remediation work following the gap analysis.

RESILIA and ISO 27001
The RESILIA Pathway Tool includes the control areas from the international standard for information security management, ISO 27001.
ISO 27001 sets out the requirements for an ISMS (information security management system), the international best-practice approach to information security management.
Independently accredited certification to ISO 27001 is widely recognised as a badge of excellence, helping organisations win new business, comply with business, legal, contractual and regulatory requirements, and avoid the financial penalties and losses associated with data breaches.
