Junior GDPR Consultants

We now have an exciting opportunity to train as a GDPR consultant, providing advice to a wide variety of clients, across multiple sectors and in states throughout the EU. With data protection and cyber security practices a rapid area of growth, and the requisite skills being far and few between, this is an excellent opportunity for aspiring lawyers to distinguish themselves from the competition by developing a knowledge base and skill set that will be invaluable to law firms as this practice area continues to expand.

We offer:

  • Commitment to your professional development: On starting your role, you will have the opportunity to qualify in six internationally recognised certifications focusing on data protection, cyber security and information security.

  • Client-facing work: You will be working independently and responsible for managing your own client relationships. You will be analysing data protection legislation and, on that basis, providing privacy advice to a mixture of clients, which may include working with blue chip and FTSE 100 companies. This means that you will need to develop a thorough understanding of your clients’ business, allowing you to tangibly present that much sought-after commercial awareness that private practice and in-house firms require.

  • A high level of responsibility and challenging work: IT Governance is rapidly expanding to meet the growing demand for consultancy advice on the new EU GDPR. This means that you will have a high level of responsibility for analytical and research projects, and you will not be limited to the administrative work typical of graduate roles.

  • Sufficient time to apply for training contracts: While we expect you to be fully committed to your role and to your clients, we understand that training contract applications take a considerable amount of time to write. Your hours of work will generally be between the hours of 09:00 to 17:30, but there will be the need to work additional hours to meet client requirements. This will, however, leave you time to make successful applications for your future.

 

You will have:

  • A proactive, commercial and organised approach;
  • An interest in data protection, with particular focus on the EU GDPR and its implications for organisations;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
  • Computer literacy;
  • The ability to learn complex information and communicate it in an accessible way;
  • A degree or equivalent professional qualification, preferably in law, IT or a business-related subject;
  • Fluent English, with at least one other language native to the EU being an advantage.
